ENCOURAGING OTHER TOWNS, COMMUNITIES AND/OR INDIVIDUALS TO HAVE A VOLUNTEERS DAY – A DAY OF GRATITUDE OF THEIR OWN

WAiV, the Woodstock Volunteers Day Committee encourages all towns, communities and individuals in the Hudson Valley to celebrate Volunteers Day – A Day of Gratitude.

  1. Your community need not do what Woodstock has been doing. Celebrate the day in any way that you choose, make it your own. Honoring all volunteers both current and retired on Volunteers Day can have many versions. They are all good.
  2. Each individual can take the time to recognize the volunteer or volunteers in one’s life, by just thanking them, buying them a cup of tea or coffee, sending them a Volunteers Day card, treat them to dinner. Once you decide to appreciate volunteers there are many different opportunities available.
  3. Of course, you can follow Woodstock’s model, and you are invited to come up and check out the festivities here; talk with us about how the day is organized and put together.
